Since April we have had a new contractor, Enterprise Ltd, responsible for street cleaning in the borough, This has led to numerous problems with missed rubbish and recycling collections, particularly at the start of the contract although between July and September, Elthorne had the highest number of missed collections in the borough.
As part of the new contract Enterprise are supposed to wash main roads like the Uxbridge Road twice per year. However, as I discovered in my council questions, Enterprise had not washed any roads in the first six months and the Uxbridge Road in Hanwell has not been washed this year. Enterprise’s explanation is that the new sweepers they bought did not do the job and they have now appointed a sub-contractor to do the street washing. The council has told me that the Uxbridge Road in Hanwell is scheduled to be washed by the end of March 2013.
Here is a summary of their performance in street cleaning in Elthorne since April, with the number of roads classified as grade A (the best), B, C and D. As you can see, Enterprise’s performance the first three months of the new contract was particularly bad but had finally improved by September although a missed recycling collection at the Lidl site ended with the flytipping becoming so bad that it was graded D. Please feel free to contact me if you have a problem with street cleaning in your road.
